Lockdown Cartoon #22: Magic Pencils

I’m currently working on my next picture book. And I often have a visitor to my desk. My 4 year old daughter loves my coloured pencils. She is convinced she can draw better when she uses them. She is not wrong. My artist quality pencils have more pigments compared to her children’s grade ones, hence colours are more vivid. The quality comes with extra cost though. As much as I love seeing my daughter improving her drawing skills, I feel pain when I see my expensive newly bought pencils have already gotten short!

To record what it’s like to be at home during lockdown with young children, I’m documenting my everyday family life with cartoons.

Here is today’s cartoon.
Artist and children’s author Noriko Matsubara documents her family's experience during COVID-19 lockdown with relatable cartoons.
