I’m used to seeing people wearing face masks in Japan. It’s common etiquette for people who have a cold, or those who have hay fever. But it feels very strange to see people wearing face masks in the UK. Face coverings have been so unpopular here that there has even been a petition calling for a ban on the wearing of a Burka, and other face coverings in public. Now the situation is the other way around. Face coverings have become mandatory on public transport and in shops.
The common sense of yesterday is no longer valid today. The post-coronavirus world would be completely different from the world before. I am anxious, but at the same time, very curious to witness these changes.
Here is today’s cartoon.
